Are Catholics Saved?
The term “born again” was started in the Bible to express the need to be Baptized. But Satan has caused many to turn away from the water Baptism, that even Jesus allowed himself to have, “doing the will of the Father” Its sad that some try to twist around the Holy Word of God to match the way that they have reasoned out their faith. But the majority of the the world religions believe in a water Baptism, so those who don’t believe, will eventually fade away, while another “new” religion will emerge, and try to push their ideas upon us. As Catholics, we have been saved and born again by the Holy Spirit in our Baptism. When those “religions” come to you and ask ” are you saved?” what they really are asking is for you to believe in an idea that is fairly new, and in error, because they want you to forget about your Baptism, as if it was wrong. Many times they tell me, ” I can’t believe that any Catholic is saved” Satan is using them to try to get us to drop our Baptism, and in fact to give up our Catholic Faith.

@Stevesilvia I don’t either, it clearly says “saved by faith” and “not of works”
Yeah, it says “Faith” it’s saying to take action, meaning to preach the Gospel and read the bible. It doesn’t literally means to do “good works”…. How more clear can verse 9 be? “Not of works”
@Uofreak16 how clear is it? This clear…James 2:17 “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead”
The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines like the Age of Accountability and celebrates Pagan festivals Like Christmas and Easter, Also batpizes Infants which is completely unbiblical.
@Stevesilvia Don’t change the subject. If it says you’re saved by faith then you’re saved by faith… Don’t challenge God’s word.
James 2:17 means to take “action” with your faith, to preach the Gospel. It doesn’t literally mean to do “Good works” that’s why ephesians 2:8-9 clears it up,”Saved by faith, not of yourselves. And not of works.”
I’m not, it clearly says “saved by faith” and “not of works”
Don’t you understand that you’re saved God’s grace and not of yourself?? How more clear can it be? Works will not help you get to heaven. I will pray for you cause satan is confusing you. God bless.
@Stevesilvia
Ephesians 2:8-9
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Clear isn’t it?
Faith by itself is not dead… Faith is all God wants, nothing else.
@stevesilvia it stills says that you’re saved by faith, oh and read verse 9, NOT OF WORKS!! You are confused…
@Uofreak16 So you admit that the bible doesn’t say ” by faith alone”…
Ephisians 2:9 “not of works, lest anyone should boast” clear isn’t it?
@Uofreak16 my opjection is that you stated that the bible says by faith alone….it never uses the word “alone”….the Bible nowhere uses the expressions “justification by faith alone” or “salvation by faith alone.” The first was directly the invention of Luther; the second his by implication. Luther inserted “alone” into the German translation of Romans 3:23 to give credence to his new doctrine.
@Uofreak16 James2;14 “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead”
I don’t either, it clearly says “your saved by faith” and “not of works”
@Uofreak16 I’m not changing the subject, I just don’t ADD words to the bible that are not there….
“saved by faith” and “not of works”, i’m not adding anything.
@Uofreak16 protestants say Catholics believe we are saved by works, but what catholics believe is that we are saved by faith. Although we cannot earn God’s unmerited favor by our good works, we can reject his love by our sins (that is, by our evil works) and thereby lose the eternal life he freely offers us in Christ. Faith by itself is dead….
@Uofreak16 sorry, thats not what the Scriptures say….its only what you believe. James 2:17 says “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” Clear isn’t it?
@Uofreak16 correct, which brings us to my original statement, that works do not save us, faith alone does not save us, but only faith with action, deeds will save us according to the bible…
@Uofreak16 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…” the word “alone” is not in any version. James 2:14 ‘In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” ….you are confused.
@Mcstroke57 The Catholic Church teaches only biblical doctrines, your church has lied to you. Your interpretations are not ours.
Deeds will not save you according to the bible, it’s clear in verse 9…. Faith will acvording to verse 8… You’re confused.
Read this,
John 3:16
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Whats the key word in this verse? BELIEVE which is Faith. It says whoever BELIEVES in him shall have everlasting life, which is basically having Faith… It’s clear as water, it’s you’re choice if you want
