Catholic Mass changes coming this weekend

The Diocese of Providence is issuing a reminder about changes to the Roman Missal.

The diocese says it, and other parishes across the United States, will implement the changes during Masses held this weekend. That means parishioners will be asked to recite revised responses during Mass.

The changes are the result of a new translation of the Roman Missal. The diocese says the new translation aims to provide parishioners with more spiritual language for worship and be more consistent with the Latin original.

The diocese says it has also created a video about the implementation of new translation that’s available on the web site thericatholic.com.
